Cookies, We've Got Cookies

Making Easter cookies with kids has been a tradition in our house for decades.

However, my own kids have kids of their own now.

Luckily, this year I had three little helpers so the tradition of decorated Easter cookies could go on!

The little bakers stirred coloring into frosting and happily covered homemade sugar cookies in the shapes of bunny heads, sheep, chicks, and hearts.

They sprinkled doodads with great abandon.

Chopped coconut substituted for the fleece of the yummy sheep.

Of course, it was imperative that every color of frosting be taste-tested, over and over again.

After all, they had to make sure it was just right. hee hee

The kitchen was an unholy mess and nobody cared as the Easter delicacies took precedence over orderliness.

Taste, taste, stir, stir, munch, munch, sprinkle, sprinkle,  and voila! The cookies were done.

DO YOU ENJOY DECORATING EASTER COOKIES?

I'm here - gee you have the patience of a saint to let them do all that in your kitchen. We would bake cookies but I am afraid I was always a bit worried about the mess.
The cookies were adorable and i know they had a great time.
Love, sandie

Baking cookies with the grands looks like a lot of fun. I made a snack mix with my eldest granddaughter (8) yesterday after school. Your grands look like they decorate cookies like mine - lots of sprinkles and doodads! So delicious.
