It turned out to be one of those precious, autumn days that make a person feel extra thankful to be alive.
A very dear sister is visiting here from the west coast.
New England autumns remain very special to her.
There are few like them anywhere.
The trees in their colorful autumn finery, the blue skies dotted with puffy white clouds, cool temps in the air, and so on make it a season to remember.
We couldn't stop marveling at how incredibly beautiful the trees looked.
Stopping by a picturesque lake, we got out of the car and sat on a bench for awhile, soaking up the afternoon sun.
We even did a little shopping at a charming country store.
What a day to remember it turned out to be!
Such days are sure to remain in our memories for years to come.

Country drives are just about the best time spent, Susan. You saw so many lovelies along the way. So nice that you are visiting with your sister from the west. And I hope you broughtt home a little goody or two from that charming country store. Our Autumn day is sunny today too. : )
