Gingerbread Smiles

As the days until Christmas get shorter, and the things that need doing get longer, it's sometimes hard to keep up the momentum.

It would be great to have the ability to remain as cheerful and carefree as the little gingerbread figurines in this post.

They are adorable.

Sometimes the rush and chaos of the holiday season can weigh heavily on one's heart.

Today is a good day to stop. Slow down.  Think of a baby in a manger.

Then, concentrate on that baby being a king who would save mankind.

That's reason to smile!

All of these thoughts came as a result of  seeing replicas of a gingerbread boy and girl.

I don't do holiday momentum. Chocolates, spice/ gourmet food collections are the only gifts I do and a minimum of decorating. I would rather concentrate on a few invitations, nothing splashy. Since I don't have social media accounts there's to reason for big expensive displays.

Yes, no rushing for me. After my trip to see all the family, this week will be thinking about the precious baby Jesus who came into the world and gave us so much love that will last a lifetime. And maybe enjoying a few of those Yummy Christmas goodies. ; )

Have a merry and bright week, Susan.

this is exactly what I did yesterday. I stopped, and just simply did nothing but listen to christmas music and enjoyed the day

I do not rush around in my old age. I take one moment at a time. I ask Alexa to play Christmas songs and sometimes sit and listen while I read. Other times I watch Christmas concerts on PBS and Christmas movies. I am singing in a concert at church tomorrow night...beloved carols all about Jesus's birth.
