Be a Light in the World

While snapping photos in the back yard the other day,  I took one of the sun coming through the trees.

It's the photo at the top of this post.

Light is so welcome, especially after several dark weather days in a row.

That made me think how important it is to BE a light in the world.

There is so much trouble, sorrow and difficulty in the world.

If we can be lights in the darkness to someone going through a health crisis,or an otherwise challenging, hard time, it can make a huge difference.

Today, be a light!

DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN SOMEONE WAS A LIGHT TO YOU?

Be a Light in the World

Have you ever walked in a dark room and stubbed your toe?

It's not fun.

During a thunderstorm, have you ever lost electrical power and had to fish around in a dark drawer with your hand in a frantic attempt to find a book of matches?

In both of those situations, a hand-held flashlight is a godsend.

Once matches are discovered, even one tiny flame brings welcome light.

Today, why not be  light in the world?

Think what a kindness that could be to someone steeped in emotional darkness.

A warm smile, an understanding word, and unasked-for kindnesses are all ways to bring "light" to others.

Rather than whine and complain or find fault today, just smile and let your Christ light shine for all!

If you can do that, you, too, will be steeped in light!

HOW CAN YOU BE A LIGHT IN THE WORLD ON THIS DAY?

Be a Light in the Darkness....

(A candle holder found while shopping in the attic! It's on our front hall table.)

A single scented candle can fill an entire room with fragrance.

It can create a calming, peaceful light in the darkness of the night.

In the same way, we can be candles in the world, filling space with light and gentleness.

Bringing warmth of spirit to those who are experiencing cold.

This world needs candles.

It needs people who are compassionate, kind and loving.

So be a candle and fill the world around you with light.

May your Sunday be filled to the brim with light.

HOW CAN YOU BE A CANDLE TO OTHERS?

Be a Light!

December first is here!

The countdown is really starting.

It's so easy to get caught up in the frenzy.

However, it's really important to be a light in the world.

Let your light shine on all with whom you come in contact.

Smile at the crabby cashier and at scowling shoppers. It might just be what they need to turn their frowns upside down!

Like a candle lighting up the black velvet darkness, being a light in the world will illumine all who come in contact with you.

Be a light in this most beautiful of seasons.

WHAT IS ONE WAY YOU CAN BE A  LIGHT?
