Well, there's a plant in my home office that is also growing tall like a coconut tree, except it's an avocado!
Last year, my granddaughter and I saved a pit from an avocado she ate as part of her lunch.
"Hey," I said to her. "Want to plant this pit?"
Of course, she was totally on board. So we got a pot, filled it with soil and tucked the little pit in.
We waited for weeks but nothing happened.
It took awhile for a few green sprouts to come bursting out of the soil.
Then ol' "avo" really started climbing!
We'd water it, even talk to it a little bit, and gave it lots of love!
Now, it's a real beauty, all grown from an ugly pit, and growing like a coconut, or, I should say, like an avocado tree!
GARDENERS, DO YOU THINK THIS PLANT COULD EVER GROW AN AVOCADO?
