The Gift of Today

It's rare to be up early enough to witness a sunrise.

My husband is an early riser.

On a recent trip, he called me to the window of our hotel room at the crack of dawn.

The sun was just peeking its magnificent head up over the horizon.

Waves gently lapped the shoreline of the ocean outside the balcony of our  room.

For a quite awhile, I watched as the sun climbed higher and higher into the morning sky.

Just the utter peace of the moment was enough to fill my heart with gratitude for being alive.

The Creator's gift of the new day's sun was an extra bonus. What splendor!  What an incredible thing to see.

Peace, as well as morning light, washed over everything in sight. No rushing. No problems. No worries. No "to do" lists.

  It was an immense joy to just "be." 

p.s. I have been away from home for 10 days and am back now. That's why some posts have run for two days and why I haven't been visiting as frequently.  Missed you!

Beauty of This Very Moment

 Sometimes we receive incredible gifts at the spur-of-the-moment.

They are totally unexpected.

Just this weekend, I was zipping to the supermarket in the early evening.

The day had been busy but I wanted to get the chore of grocery shopping over and done with.

As I veered my car into the parking lot, the sunset depicted in today's post caught my attention.

Honestly, it was so incredibly beautiful that I just wanted to sit there and cry.

Immense gratitude filled my heart.

The splendorous scene was a spontaneous gift and I had eyes with which to see it. 

What more could I possibly ask for?
