This blog, Writing Straight from the Heart, began as a labor of love in October of last year.  It is now officially one year old!

Sorry it's taken me several days to announce the little commemoration giveaway. It's been pretty hectic around here. I'm sure many of you can identify. Time sure flies, whether one is having fun or not! ha!

One-Year Blog Anniversary! A Celebration Better Than the Cat's Meow!

Dear Readers:

Today, Wednesday, October 13, marks a year since Writing Straight from the Heart began as a labor of sheer love.

It was my very first venture into blogland. Discovering that such a place existed seemed utterly amazing to me and I yearned to be part of it. There was so much to learn but I was a willing and excited student. I still am.

Writing is thrilling to me and taking photographs beats riding on a roller coaster for fun. Blogging allows a person to both write and do photography. How awesome is that?

So I have posted. Rain or shine, holiday or bad hair day, tired or energetic, sad or joyful, pre-dawn or past midnight,  the posts have come. As a matter of fact, 375 posts have been written since the day the blog was born.

You know what  has been the best part of blogging?  YOU!  The readers. Just to think you take time out of your day to read the posts I write fills me with unparallelled happiness.  Some of you have become Followers and for that, I thank you deeply.

Each comment that has been made this past year has kept me going.  Whenever continuing blogging came into question,  someone would say something meaningful to me and the decision would be made-- keep writing!

I have loved reading other peoples' blogs, too. It has been such an awesome experience.  One blogger refers to her readers as  "dear bloggie friends."  Another  calls them  her "cherry pies."  I'll  just say you are my precious little sweethearts!

So to you, dear readers,  (my little sweethearts), I send heartfelt gratitude. It has been a great year. I send each of you love from the bottom of my heart! Love, Susan
