Thrifted Vases for Pennies for Gifts of Flowers That Won't Break the Bank

Today we are joining Thrifty Things Friday on Diann's blog, The Thrifty Groove and Show and Tell Friday on Cindy's blog, My Romantic Home.

Be sure to visit those blogs as you will be in for a real treat, with so many fascinating things to see from around the USA and beyond.

Because flowers make perfect gifts for almost  for all occasions, as well as no occasion at all, it's important to have plenty of vases on hand.

In fact, three entire small shelves in our old-fashioned pantry are filled with vases of every description and size. Most, if not all of them, were thrifted and cost just pennies!

Silver vases always look regal. The yard sale silver vase shown below fits perfectly with the 49-cent thrift store silver tray beneath!

Here's a big silver vase with a thick rope attached, also a thrift store find for less than $3.00.

Who says all vases have to be traditional?  All kinds of non-vases can also make great containers for blooms.

Look at the sweet flower-covered sugar bowl, shown at the top of this post and below.

It was a thrift store treasure for under $3.00!

Wouldn't small white or pink roses look charming in this?

Or what about a few perfect yellow roses or purple violets in a cup covered with the same?

Scouting for  bargain vases is a perfectly justifiable excuse for going thrift store shopping, right?

Thrift stores have all kinds of really gorgeous vases of every possible description.

Even very plain containers can be spruced up and made more beautiful by tying special ribbons around them.

Or even some plain raffia,  tied around a vase, makes it look special:

Are you partial to crystal and cut glass? These can often be purchased very inexpensively.

Next time you go to a thrift store, leave the guilt about shopping again behind. You will have the perfect excuse---- checking out the vases for future blooms that will make  perfect gifts without breaking the bank.

HAVE YOU USED NON-TRADITIONAL CONTAINERS FOR FLOWERS?
