The Precious, Sun-Filled Days of Autumn

The lingering days of autumn are as precious as jewels.

Late afternoon sunshine pours through windows that, in a few short months, will be covered with ice formations.  Snow and sleet will make the outside unfit for all but the bravest humans and  animals.

For now, however, autumn's light fills the house with brightness. As it streams into the pantry, its rays illuminate many pieces of glassware.

Actually, there are too many pieces cramming one big shelf and weeding out is badly needed. The glassy clutter is the result of too-hard-to-resist yard sale and thrift store finds!  However, the clutter is getting to me and it's time to streamline.

It would be great to have a little what-not shop to put it all in and then re-sell but I don't know how to do that. There would be rent and insurances, location, and so on and so forth. The thought of all that is too daunting.

So, for now, everything gets stashed into the pantry where the sun makes each piece, from glasses to a small vase on a windowsill, sparkle.

Autumn sunlight even fills one's heart with brightness. It makes a person feel happy and warmed.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF AUTUMN BESIDES THE COLORED LEAVES?
