Sign on Front Porch Welcomes Visitors (and Mailperson) Alike!: Post for Saturday, July 24, 2010

Whenever a day trip is in order, part of the fun is coming home with something for the house. Then, when I look at the item,  it's nice to remember where it came from and how it was acquired.

On one trip to Maine, we stopped at some outlet stores and I came across the sweetest ceramic house sign that hangs from wrought iron. On that particular trip, there was very little spending money so buying the welcome sign was a big deal. I found it on sale for less than $10.

It's ceramic and very bright and cheery. It has my favorite color flowers, pink, in a green teapot with a black and white bow that matches the markings all around the border of the plaque.

This welcome sign replaced the Celebrate Spring sign. It's nice to have a variety of signs for all seasons, don't you think?

I think signs on the front porch make guests (and the mail person) feel welcome.

DO YOU HAVE A WELCOME SIGN? CAN YOU DESCRIBE IN IT IN A COMMENT?

Susan,
I love your welcome sign. In October I hang a fall wreath, then in December a Christmas wreath with a snowman in the center. January, I hang a plaque that reads: Let it Snow...someplace else! But February thru September I have a dainty heart shaped decoration (sort of grapevine material) with twigs hanging down and a few pink flowers for accent. I haven't found anything I like better until now when I saw your sign.

That's so adorable! I don't have a welcome sign, but I do have a big Texas star on my front door. Does that count? hehe
