Visit to a Farm

Just because I'm a city girl, doesn't mean a visit to a farm cannot be enjoyable.

As a matter of fact, recently, while driving through the countryside, I stopped at a farm in Western Massachusetts and it turned out to be quite fascinating!  I loved seeing all the animals, especially the babies!

When buying fresh eggs from the farm, it's amazing how bright yellow the yolks are compared to pale yellow supermarket eggs.

Give me any day the ones gathered in the morning, washed and sold a few hours later.

Now check out this calf, shown above and below. Isn't she the absolute cutest little creature?

How about this Mama cow?  Oooeeee, now she must give a LOT of milk.

This horse is lovely, too. She must have a happy life, munching grass in an open field in the fresh air!

Awwwww, these little goats made me think of one thing. Chevre!

Now I LOVE chevre, or goat cheese. This farm doesn't make it, though, so I couldn't buy any.

Here are some of those chickens whose eggs I was talking about earlier!

Okay, everybody ready to sing?  "Old McDonald had a farm, ee aye ee aye oh! And on that farm he had a..... "

ARE YOU A COUNTRY PERSON OR A CITY SLICKER?

I love all the farm fresh products I can get but enjoy living near everything so guess you'd call me a city slicker.

I am a Country girl from a city Girl. Your right these eggs are so yellow and so yummier then the city. For sure.

I will never go back to the traffic jam's and crowed stores to live.

I have lived here for 6 years in Country and hubby and I have never a cold or my bronchitis back.

Yup your pictures are Country alright. Love them.

What wonderful pictures of country life!

I'm really happy to live near where things that I enjoy are more convenient, but the peacefulness of country life is difficult to beat! So, we live in a rural-type area, about 15 minutes from "civilization." The zoning for our area would allow for a cow, horse, etc., but no "swine nor fowl." A farmer has a very difficult job, and I would not really wish for that day-to-day routine.

Hi Susan,
I'm a city/suburban girl through and through.
I do love all the farm animals...cows are a particular favourite of mine.
Your photos are lovely.
My daughter lives on a farm...she has tank water, bottled gas and petrol generator for power and light. She wouldn't have it any other way.
Have a good week
