There are no shades or curtains there so the sun's rays are free to bounce and illuminate wherever they want.
It just so happens there are many glass objects on the cabinet top below the window.
Now I love crystal and cut glass of all kinds. The intricate patterns call to me.
On sunny days, there's a short time in the late afternoon when the sun pours down through the window and onto the glass items.
So many times when passing by the pantry, I have looked in and stopped in my tracks.
The crystal shimmers and glows.
Then, in a few split seconds, the sun moves along and the magic show ends
Right now, on the shelf in the window, green and purple glass are displayed, soon to be replaced by amber for the fall.
DO YOU DECORATE WITH TRANSPARENT GLASS, CRYSTAL OR COLORED GLASS ?
Beutiful...like being inside a kaleidescope. That purple glass is awesome.
ReplyDeleteOolala! You said the word "sparkle" in the title and here I am! LOL Absolutely gorgeous pieces!!
ReplyDeleteI use tea light candles in one of my crystal bowls, of an evening they give a beautiful pattern on the wall nearby.
ReplyDeleteYes I do and love it. You are so lucky to have such a beautiful window in a pantry of all places. I would leave the door wide open. I so love that beautiful coloured jug. xx
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful! I don't have so much crystal and not so many windows letting in sunlight, so this is an especially cheerful post for me :)
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a young girl the house we lived in had a walk in pantry. My sister and I loved this room..it was filled with fascinating things and our dad even hatched baby chickens in there.
I've never had pantry as an adult...but I'd love one.
I have a bottle collection on top of my kitchen cupboards and my clear glass and cut glass vases on top of display units in my hallway.
Have a good week

I have two windows I put glass in and they make me very happy! I just put out my amber glass....I'll share later! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteI love colored glass, Susan! Can you imagine? I've always loved the way light passes through and how it gives everything around it a lovely coat of color. Your arrangement is beautiful...
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvelous idea! I need to be more creative like you.
ReplyDeleteI have some crystals in the window that, when the sun does shine (in the Pacific Northwest!) produces beautiful rainbows in my kitchen. My granddaughter, Maddie, loved them and when she was here this summer wanted to know, "why do you have so many rainbows, Mimi?" "Because I love you, Maddie!" XOXO
ReplyDeleteI do love sparkles especially all these pretty colored ones!
ReplyDeleteIn answer to your question--I don't but you might have just made me a believer! Beautiful pictures!!
ReplyDeleteSusan I love your glass sparkles - always. I love the colors this time too - you must have the PERFECT window for them to be displayed.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE clear glass, even if it isn't crystal and love to collect clear glass candle sticks (even though I have nowhere to put them in my 5th wheel home) I do have several pieces of cobalt blue glass displayed in my home, particularly above my "china cabinet". I use "earthquake putty" to keep them secure when we travel.
ReplyDeleteLove your sparkling glass!
I live in earthquake country so do not have many glass objects out at all on shelves or anywhere else. Your pieces are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI am always mesmerized by crystal but it does not fit my decor. I have a few glass serving bowls that I love. How beautiful your crystal is with the light shinning on it. Pure eye candy.♥
ReplyDeleteI agree with Linda it does look like a kaleidescope! I'm envious of your pantry - ours is just a closet.
ReplyDeleteI have colored bottles in my kitchen windows for a bit of sparkle.
Enjoy your week sweet friend!
