Terra Cotta Angel

Last weekend, a visit to an annual church yard sale was a fun part of Saturday.

Because of being very discerning about what comes home these days, a lot of really nice items were viewed but not purchased.

Then I saw a darling little terra cotta angel.

"Awwwwww," I thought.  "How adorable."

Angel baby is laying down on its side (I  never know whether to say her or  his when it comes to angels.)

So sweet. And angel baby has a cute face, too.

Angel has a kind of pensive expression, like he/she's thinking of something important.

When I saw the price, angel went into my "buy" bag.....50 cents.

Now the question is, leave angel as is or paint white and do a little shabby chic-ing.

What to you think?

LEAVE ANGEL AS IS OR RE-PAINT AND DISTRESS?

  1. I would paint her, make her different to any other angel.

  2. I like the natural look if she's going outside but if you're keeping her inside I vote paint:)

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  3. I'm not too much into distressing, so I'm not sure about painting the angel white. I'd prefer another different kind of glaze, perhaps, that would give an antique kind of color. I've never done this myself, just seen a few pieces in other places, so it's not something I could recommend with any kind of authority.:)

    Have a wonderful Thursday!

  6. I guess it's where is that sweet angel going...inside or outside in the garden? Inside, a little shabbyness would be nice, but outside, I'd leave her/him as is with the terra cotta. I'd also wait and let it tell you where it's going and what it should have done or not have done...tee hee!

  7. I love terracotta items, so I would vote to leave it as it is. But everyone's taste and decor are different. It's a wonderful find!

    Have a great weekend,

  8. All depends on the look you are going for, and where you want to place your sweet little angel. I have a tendency to just leave things as they are and make them work. Hope your day is a good one. Tammy

  10. It is about where you are going to put it Susan - inside or out. Out I like terracotta in I would like white.

  12. What a lovely angel!! I would say that if you are going to use her outside, I would leave her as is. If you are going to used her inside, then I would paint her...
Looking forward to see what you decide...

    Hugs,
    Deb
