Grateful for Fruit

Lately, I've been crazy for apples and not just  plain ones.

What I've been doing is chopping up an apple and adding a tablespoon of brown sugar, a handful each of pecan halves and raisins, and a sprinkle of both cinnamon and oatmeal.

The concoction cooks quickly in the micro.  Then I add a splash of milk or half and half. Mmm mmm mmm

My hubs is crazy about mangoes.

He peels them and then chops them into bite size pieces. Sometimes he adds salt. (Bad for you but tasty.)

Berries of any kind are luscious and I also love peaches and nectarines in season.

Any of the melons are delish--cantelope, honeydew and watermelon.

Sweet oranges and tangerines are good, too, and I love bananas with a glass of milk.

So today, I have to say it's fruit that I'm very grateful for.

Joining thankful Sunday from Linda's blog, A La Carte. She posts Sunday night.

WHAT FRUIT ARE YOU CRAZY ABOUT?

As I've stated before apples are my very favorite fruit. Today I bought green apples, bananas, red seedless grapes, strawberries, blueberries and tangerines...I guess I'm very grateful for fruit too Susan!

I agree with your husband I love mangoes never knew you could add salt, they have been really good in Australia this summer, I've had lots.
I also like dragon fruit, figs most of the berry family and bananas.
They only fruit I don't eat are grapes, they don't agree with me.

I was happy to find a 5 pound bag of Fuji apples on sale a couple of weeks ago. They were delicious. We've gone w/o apples for a while since prices were SO very high....THIS week it was a 5 pound bag of oranges for $2.99 - so we're enjoying them. We usually split a banana a day between the two of us...Guess there's not a fruit I don't like :)

I enjoy most fruits, but have to stay away from the ones that are highest in citric acid. I really enjoy fresh pineapple, strawberries, and grapes, and could eat them all year, if they were reasonably priced. REALLY love seasonal fruits!! Have a wonderful day, Susan! :-)

I love different types of melons, hard to get them now though, but love making a fruitsalad every now and then.

Oh, your apple dish sounds so good this morning. It has been raining all night and it here for the day too. Nice and we need it, but a warm apple sounds great on a rainy day.

I can so relate...lots of times when I'm baking I cut an apple into eighths and nibble as I go. It tastes wonderful! And, the adage "an apple a day..." isn't a bad reward either, Enjoy your weekend, dear friend, XOXO

How long do you microwave that? And have you tried the new cuties? They are pretty good and easy to eat.

I love berries! We grow blueberries, so they are always available since we freeze them from the summer. I also love a good, juicy pear.:-) It isn't until late summer that they are the best, but a honeydew melon is also a favorite!
