Wallpaper gives a room an entirely unique look.
While I'd hate to do the work of applying it, wallpaper appeals to me.
Wouldn't that be dreamy?
On a recent day trip to Cooperstown, N.Y., my trusty old digital camera snapped quite a few dozen photos including several inside a small room leading to a bathroom inside the Fenimore Art Museum.
It's actually housed in a rather elegant mansion.
What do you think of this bird-splashed paper?
Would you use it in your house?
Isn't it the pizazz?
Loved the decor of this snazzy little room.
DO YOU LIKE THE LOOK OF WALLPAPER?
DO YOU HAVE WALLPAPER IN YOUR HOUSE?
Hello from Spain: I really like the paper on the walls of houses. The paper adds warmth to the room. I have a pink paper and bears in the rooms of my daughters. Keep in touch
ReplyDeletePerhaps I would not like to use such wallpaper in my house, I prefer less colored and with smaller details. Such wallpapers could be used along with plain colored or tiny patterned :)
ReplyDeleteI love wallpaper but it's horrible to put up and hard to take off. When we were first married we lived in a flat it was very boring and the landlord said we could put up wallpaper, well that was fun you put one bit up and another bit falls off the wall, we had a lot of fun and invited a lot of friends around to help but never again, painting is easier, a feature wall is the way to go.
ReplyDeleteMerle................
I like wall paper on other peoples' walls, because I lived with too much of it in my younger years. Now I prefer white walls throughout. I do think cabbage rose wallpaper looks pretty in victorian or country homes. Do IT!
ReplyDeleteOur earlier homes always had wallpaper, but now I find I love paint and choose to add the colorful patterns with pillows and accessories. I do love vintage homes with wallpaper and these birds are just lovely. XOXO
ReplyDeleteNot much a fan of wall paper here, Susan. We don't have any on our walls, not even any border. What you pictured seems appropriate for the setting, though.
ReplyDeleteNope...I do not like wallpaper at all. I like plain painted walls...of course it was very popular in the "old days" and looks good in the mansion..I just wouldn't want it in my house.
ReplyDeleteWould you believe that our apartment still has the wood paneling that was so popular back in the 70s, when the building was built? I appreciate a little wallpaper here and there, but find many patterns just too busy for my own taste. Oh, that paneling is just in the living room and one bedroom...the other bedroom and kitchen are painted, and if we ever move, I'm sure the landlord will do LOTS of changes!! I agree that the wallpaper you have shared seems quite appropriate for the setting, but I would not want to live with it!
ReplyDeleteI prefer to paint but I love the old wallpaper...If I had that I would do an accent wall.
ReplyDeleteI love wallpaper! And you found some pretty scenes. But, recently we have removed all the wallpaper in our house (except for bathrooms) and now have creamy, white walls. Lovin' that too!
ReplyDeleteOh, so glad I came to see your post, as I'm thinking of wall paper, for a small accent wall and this one is simply gorgeous with the birds! You see, I'm thinking of adding wall paper in my small foyer entrance, it'll give it a lot of elegance. Thank you for sharing and for visiting me too.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,
FABBY
I like wallpaper. I use to use it a lot. My Frank and I use to help our family and friends put up wall paper. I believe it will be popular once again in a few years. I like the bird wall paper but it needs the right house and decor.
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteWe used Wallpaper in our home many years ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If I could build another home with a Southern type Charm I would LOVE to put wallpaper in a room or two-If you have a desire to add cabbage pink rose wallpaper, go for it!

Love the bird wallpaper. My niece has beautiful bird-themed paper in her kitchen/breakfast area.
ReplyDeleteWallpaper is back in style. I see it being used all the time on home shows now, and in house/garden magazines. I love the difference it can make in a room and I have hung many a piece in my day. It's not as difficult as you may think, just time-consuming.
I like the wall paper and if you had the right house it would be pretty. I have wall paper - but I would like to take it off! lol

I love wall paper and I'm hoping one day to have a wall papered room. I want Roses... with love Janice
ReplyDeleteI Like wallpaper too and had most of our rooms papered at one time. But styles change and I have lots of painted neutrals now. Soon, wallpaper will be the trend again :)
