Stickers, We've Got Stickers

Grandparents will usually do anything for their grandchildren.

After all, those kids have direct lines to grandparents' hearts.

My own baby granddaughter fell absolutely in love with putting stickers into a Curious George coloring book.

(She loves putting crayons in the box, pulling them out, peeling the paper on their outsides, and then sticking them back in the box. As for coloring with them?  Uhhhh, not so much. ha!)

Although she's not yet verbal, her little face lit up every visit when I pulled out the  ol' Curious George coloring book.

Then we ran out of stickers because they were all stuck onto the pages.

When I found some colorful jungle animal stickers while shopping in a dollar store, they had to come home with me.

She'll love them!

Gingerbread cut-outs came home, too, as she'll have fun helping me put them on our windows when she comes to visit.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT GRANDCHILDREN THAT TURNS A GRANDMA'S HEART TO MUSH?

ANY CLUES?

  3. Hi, Susan!
I remember that I used to be addicted to stickers, and I still have many of them, glittery, colorful, with Disney characters, at my parents place... I shall finally start sticking them, as that time they seemed too precious to stick.
Well, the grandchildren is a part of you, just like your children are.. :) I bet I get to know this feeling when I have my first child at least. Happy weekend!

  5. Hopefully that sweet granddaughter hasn't tried to eat those crayons.:-)

Grandchildren are really special. I think that's why we love them so.

  6. I think part of the reason grandchildren are so special to us is because we grandparents can look back and see how fast our children grew up. Also, we aren't as busy as we were with a houseful of children and their activities to keep up with. We can just enjoy!!

  8. I think everything about grandkids is special. I buy sticker books for my boys too. They love them no matter what age..the oldest is six and still loves to put stickers all over the place..being boys they also love fake tatoos...My heart is filled with joy each time I see them all. The baby always steals my heart with his wonderful smile too!

  9. Oh my heart is total mush when it comes to my sweet Tiger! I think it's all the JOY of parenthood with out the tedious daily stuff. Just love and fun! Oh some discipline of course but they aren't your total responsibility...you just get to ENJOY them! Tiger loves books and I buy them at the thrift all the time. He is so appreciative of all he is given also. His parents are doing a great job and I get to be a fun and loving Grandma!!

  10. I don't know for sure what the official reason is - but I can tell you that it is TRUE.

My grands mean the world to me too.

And I used to be the sticker queen -they are so much fun - I know she will love them.

  12. I think grandchildren make you think about the passage of time and how quickly time goes by and that we should be grateful for all the days of our lives.

I do enjoy stickers and always put some on the cards I send out. I used to write quite a few letters and used them on the stationery and envelopes. Now it is mostly emails so no stickers. I do keep a few for my cards tho.

My grandaugther is too young for stickers, but am looking forward to having fun with her and stickers.

I would have loved stickers when I was kid. I remember getting stickers on my piano pieces when I did a good job on them and also getting stickers on papers from elementary school. Do you?
