Up in the Attic

You've heard the expression "down in the boondocks," right?

There was even a song about it.

Well, how about "up in the attic?"

Every time I go up there, the thought of hiring an organizer to accompany me crosses my mind.

It's in desperate need of organization.

How does one begin?

If I find out, I'll let you know.

I often think how, if we won the lottery, it could be made over to a really beautiful living space, maybe even with skylights!

But right now, it's used for  just storage.

All through the winter when I went up there to retrieve something, my fingers almost froze.

 They were quick trips.

For many months frost constantly covered most of the two picturesque little windows.

There's no more frost but it's still pretty chilly up there.

There are boxes, plastic tubs, shelves, and on and on, all in need of organization.

Oh, woe is me.

Think I prefer going "down in the boondocks" to making it "up to the attic" when I think of the work it needs to get it organized.

DO YOU HAVE AN ATTIC?  IF YES, IS IT ORGANIZED NICELY?

Hah - are being funny this am? I was just up there in my jammies pulling out our Easter decor. Didn't want to get dressed first it's so dusty.

Funny how you posted this subject this am.

Hope that all is well and that spring temps are with you now!

I always wanted to have a house with an attic. Now we don't have such, but in stead a storage room which is so conjusted with not my stuff...
I believe your attic is not as bad, in fact when I saw rows of stuff in it, I thought you actually did organize it :) Don't be scared, just tink of what you can add there to store things on and in. May be some shelves, and you can even display something on them, and put some curtains on that little window.. Oh I wish I had a house with an attic!

Yes, we do have an attic and it looks just like yours!! I have been thinking the same thing; how can I possibly get this space cleaned out and organized? And yes, it has been very cold up there, altho with yesterday's warmer temps and sunshine I made 3 more trips up with still more boxes of winter/Christmas decorations that were decorating the guest room. It wasn't so bad and I toyed with the idea of maybe doing a little spur of the moment organizing. Didn't happen. It was too nice outside to be working inside and so it is left for another day again.

There are worse things.

Just put this Wisdom, into practice. Everywhere. Even in attic and basement. :-)

My recommendation--move across country and you get organized and rid of the clutter:-D!! XOXO

My attic is very small and I never go up there. It is full of insulation for the house. I have a few storage things up there but you need to go through a crawl space to get up there...and that is not for me...so only brave men go up there for me.

Hello from Spain: in the attic of my house I created two rooms. I have boxes stored in the garage. I really like the penthouses. The rooms on the top floor of my house are very bright. Keep in touch

Oh, but how wonderful to have all that storage space..and in one place! I would so love that. But I also know we fill what we have!

No attic, but when I had a huge basement it was so unorganized but I loved all my treasures I could store there. Then I moved and have downsized and organized...that's your answer...LOL! Hugs!

Having atttic is a paradise because you can store a lot of useful and funny items and it is one of the ways not to throw them away

Susan we had an attic - but I have never ever used it for storage. Does yours have a floor??? Ours does not - we have beams - and Rick has fallen though the ceiling!
