Yard Sale Season Rocks

Yard sale season is definitely upon us.

Loved the pretty rose-covered box, shown at top of post.

There's nothing like looking for treasures among somebody else's  junk.

It's impossible to pass-up pretty Christmas balls.

Actually, estate sales usually have the best buys and selection, but not always.

Today I'm showing  you some recent spur-of-the-moment yard sale purchases.

I liked this panel for two bucks.

Any ideas on what I can do with it?

White dishes have been on my "want" list forever.

Here were many dishes for a total of $2!

They look nice on the lacy liners.

Anyone ever use Mod Podge?  What do  you use it for?

Loved this $1.00 mirror and gave it to one of my sisters.

This mirror, also a buck, ended up in hub's mancave.

WHAT IS  YOUR NUMBER 1 RULE PERTAINING TO YARD SALES?

My #1 rule Susan????? Where the next sale? LOL I love yard sales, estate sales, garage sales, flea markets-anything. Seriously, I ask myself, do I have a place or a need for the item? Can I sell it at our shows or on ETSY? That's how I keep from bringing it all home.
You have some very nice finds.

Not many good yard sales any more, mostly junky stuff, things most people toss. You got some good deals.

Susan,
My # 1 rule is if I like something grab it and buy it and think what you will do with it or where you will put it later. I have passed on too many things that later kicked myself for not buying.....

Great Buys!!

Hugs,
Debbie

Well, actually, I rarely make it to any yard sales. I once would visit an occasional estate sale or an auction, but no longer go. I'm not sure what else I need.:-)

Love all your finds, but especially the dishes! We have been to several yard sales this year. I am always looking for old cookbooks...I like to "read" them!!! lol

Hello from Spain: great purchases. You always buy very cheap. I like your dishes. Great balls Christmas ornament. In my country there is no garage sales. When a neighbor does not want the clothes or furniture give away or sell online. Keep in touch

Susan, I really love the pattern of those white dishes. I've been looking for some new one's and haven't found any yet that I love, but I will. My number one rule at yard sales is it must be cheap!
hugs,
Linda

I love visiting your beautiful blog...I don't make it here often enough. :) So thankful for your visit to mine today! I dearly love yard sales, too...my husband and son and I enjoy them together. I just love the bargains! It is amazing how someone else's castaways can become things we treasure so much! I also love thrift stores, but lately we've been in more of a downsizing, decluttering mode, so I've been trying to avoid them!! If I go in, I know I will find something I think I just cannot live without, I'll spend money unnecessarily, and I'll accumulate more stuff!! I enjoyed coming here today. God bless you!! :)

Oooo, I really like that stone panel. It looks heavy and sturdy. And I know what you mean about Christmas ornaments, especially ones that look vintage. I love yard sales - my sister introduced me to them years ago and ever since then, I was hooked. :~)

love,
~Sheri

... some beautiful buys there Susan.... I love the dishes and the Christmas ornaments....
I don't go to sales or thrift shops looking for things any more ... I've been downsizing all my collections and I don't want to be tempted to add to them again...... but I love seeing what other people treasure...
Hugs and Blessings... Barb xx

I like all your garage sale items - especially the plates.

Modge Podge - Andy used to make puzzles of his Ben Ten Characters and we would take a paint brush and brush it on the top of the puzzle - let it dry - and then it became a picture! It was all stuck together in one piece. And they have stayed together all these years.
