Yesterday, enroute to a birthday party at a niece's house, the temperature outside registered two degrees! Two!
Yes, it's a very chilly time right now in New England.
There's no sense in complaining. The weather is what it is.
What can be adjusted is attitude.
This is good reminder for all of life.
While I cannot control much of anything, there is one thing that is under my control----my attitude.
So the cold temps are not going to stop me from doing much. Acceptance of it as part of winter is where it's at.
Now's a good time to write down things I'd like to accomplish this year, too.
All the "thinking" in the world is fine and dandy but there's something therapeutic about getting it into writing.
To me, once it's in writing, it's more likely to become reality.
HOW ABOUT YOU? DO YOU WRITE DOWN THE THINGS YOU WANT TO GET DONE?
I don't make goal lists but I am a list maker of things to do! Love your header...all those hearts!

Only grocery lists but my daughter writes down things daily and has since she was a little girl. I admire people who do that. I would be so so freezing in that kind of weather...I've lived in So Cal for too long!
ReplyDeleteIs that snow by you??? You have cold and snow - that has to be hard. But what is nice is that beautiful purple heart on the window - in front of the snow - makes it look just a little bit better.
ReplyDeleteOh Susan, it is so cold here too,but so far no snow. That might change by the weekend. I have books and writing with soup fixin's on hand...so I am okay but boy are my toes and tip of my nose cold!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is very cold here too, but no snow. I don't let the weather slow me down too much either, although I went to an auction this afternoon and their heat was broken. I think it might take me a while to thaw out :)

I do make lists, but they may be void of expressed goals. I've a current reading goal, but reading isn't on my list.:-) Nellie
ReplyDeleteYou are having cold temperatures and we're having a Spring-like that which is quite unusual for the mountains :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, Susan - I just love the heart. Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs
Brrr! I don't like cold weather at all. It turned windy and dusty here yesterday but is not as bad as they predicted. Just rather blah today. I make shopping lists ... does that count? Ha! I never stick to them though. Might have 5 items on the list and walk out with 15. I kind of just wing things each and every day. :) Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteHello dear Susan, thanks for your thoughtful words you left on my blog. I am trying to accept things and move on. The service will be on Saturday.Tim's daughter is 18.
ReplyDeleteI really love seeing all your hearts. I decorated my tea room for Valentines and my doll house. I REALLY enjoyed your post on doll houses. I may be returning to the east again this year. My friend lives in N Bennington. We actually had breakfast in Bennington.
Are the doll houses in a shoppe or was it a special show?
Love ya,
Linda
I do make "to do " lists an d the best part is crossing things off it.
ReplyDeleteWe are in the midst of a cold snap here, but we did get a couple of inches of new, fluffy snow which really makes the view out my window so pretty.
Love your purple heart; haven't done any Valentine decorating yet. Still have my"bird tree" up in the family room and enjoy is comforting glow in the early morning and late afternoon.
Today is the 4th anniversary of my dear mom's passing and so it will be a somber one for me.
Keep warm....
I love your attitude, Susan. Many of my blog friends are in freezing weather right now. It doesn't get unbearably cold here where I'm at. You always make the best out of every situation, and I appreciate hearing that. And the purple heart made my day. My favorite color is PURPLE. It's such a magical color, indeed.

I spent Xmas, New Years and my birthday in Boston.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to be back home in Florida! The cold temps were making my Rheumatoid Arthritis flare up so bad.
Freaking Freezing and normally, cold weather never bothered me since I was born and raised in New England.
