A Quest for Peace

Looking back over your life, have you had many quests?

Right now, as I enter what is probably the last part of my earthly life, my quest is for peace.

I don't want just plain, ordinary, relaxing peace.

What I have in mind is deep, soul-stirring peace.

Some of the ways to do this are to meditate, pray, help others, concentrate on Almighty God,  and be out in nature.

 This life is so precious.

We have been given so much eye-popping beauty.

I want to cherish it all and appreciate every moment of life.

Hubs is a wonderful companion, accompanying me on walks to places such as the one pictured in this post.

It's a walking trail by the side of a truly picturesque, beautiful lake in Western Massachusetts.

(See the walking trail above?  Look at the gorgeous setting by the side of the lake.)

We look over our long life together, talk about so many things, and, of course, pray to the Creator of such majestic vistas.

It's all contributing to my quest.

WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR OWN QUESTS IN LIFE?

I think peace of mind is most important. A walk by a lake is always cathartic.

Susan, Your photos provide a lovely visual of that sense of tranquility being out in nature so often brings our minds and souls.

Living a simpler, quieter lifestyle at this stage of life is important to me. I want time to listen and to hear His voice; I want time to dream and create what is still in my heart to do in this season of my life.

Wishing you grace for the journey... and sending hugs,
Brenda

Hi Susan! I totally agree and have been feeling those same thoughts lately. I am so busy over the Summer working the sales that I am missing out on my nature walks, sitting on my front porch watching the birds and sitting out back on the patio enjoying the beauty that is back there as well. Beauty is all around us, we just need to take the time to see it and praise God for it!
Have a wonderful weekend!

One of my quests is to write a book...I don't know where to start but know what I want to say--I think. Other than that, I want people to miss me when I am gone! Your pictures are lovely!!!

I love your prescription for your quest for peace, and I follow those same steps. One quest I am working on is finding a publisher for my gardening and the Bible book.

I have to say I am with you exactly about the quest of peace. I want that peace where you can just let go and breathe and feel safe.

My peace comes through prayer. I am always saying my rosary. I think Mary listens to our prayers and intercedes for us with her Son. At this stage of my life my quest is for harmony among my family and good health.

You've pretty much nailed it, Susan. A quest for peace, at any stage of life, is a beautiful journey.
