Mini-Market In-The-Making

A life-long hobby is something else, isn't it?

It brings us joy at the snap of the fingers.

It lets us slip on the happiness cloak whenever there's a minute to spare.

Collecting and making dollhouse miniatures is one of my all time favorite hobbies.

The current project being worked on is a miniature farmers market.

It's going to be a long-term project and there is no projected completion date.

In the meantime, I'm having loads of fun fashioning fruits and veggies from Sculpey clay.

A couple of years ago, my daughter gave me a fabulous gift certificate to a dollhouse supply house so I ordered darling little "wooden" boxes for some of the produce.

This market might look great under a glass terrarium-type structure, don't you think?

Not sure how it's all going to come together but I'm having a blast creating the future market's goods in every second of rare free time.

The photos in today's post are a sneak peak at the market's first boxes of produce!

WHAT HOBBY, IF ANY, BRINGS YOU THE MOST JOY?

I have to tell you the truth - when I saw the first picture it looked like you were going to get ready for making breakfast - full of REAL fruit! Those were just fabulous. I wouldn't have a clue how to even start those!!!!!!!!!!!

They look so real. Great job Susan! I guess my hobby is singing and playing the piano now that I'm retired.

I thought it was all real at first. So nice to see your creative ways! Have fun! You know me, crochet all the way!

When I taught I had a daily outlet for my creativity. This weekend I made a book for my grandson. I used all of the elephant pictures we took on our visits to the zoo. Hubby says I am the only person he knows who will destroy one thing to make another.

I really like you little boxes. I remember childhood and the times spent with grandparents at the farm!

I think writing is the most joy filled hobby right now and when I can make it happen. I used to love knitting and cooking.

I love seeing your miniatures. My mother and grandfather built a doll house together with every detail and she even bought a mini lathe to turn spindles for the wrap-around porch. A very nice hobby you have there, my friend, XOXO
