Is there such a word as "packratitis?"
(That's meant to be pronounced pack-rat-i-tis.)
If there is a malady by the name, I've got it.
What someone else is happy to throw away, I'm happy to take.
It could be useful in the future.
It might come in handy for a crafts project.
It possibly could be incorporated into a decorating scheme.
Such is the case of a couple bunches of fall leaves with long stems.
When someone "discarded" them, home with me they came.
A dear friend gave me a gah gah Halloween mask last year.
It's all sparkly gold and feathery.
As a matter of fact, I wore it to answer all the trick or treaters knocks' at our door last year.
So recently, while decorating for fall, the faux leaves made a nice display in a dark red vase that a cousin gave me.
The mask is set up at its base.
Added to the mix are two beautiful oval-shaped red and gold bowls, gifts from a dear friend.
Voila! Instant decor for the fall and it didn't cost a cent.
DO YOU HAVE A TOUCH OF 'PACKRATITIS' OR ARE YOU A MINIMALIST?

I often bring home stuff or are given it, I often find a use for things no one else wants.

.. love this post Susan.......
.. I've suffered from this condition all my life ...
.. a couple of years ago I tried to change this by aiming for a minimalist look....but I didn't quite get there ... a bit sad... lol xxxx
...but I did achieve a more spacious and less cluttered look to my house..... so everyone is happy xxxx...... Barb xxxxx
Oh yes I do have packritis! This post made me laugh out loud! Hugs!
I come from a long line of junkers. I never reject someone else's tejects.
Well are you surprised I am a mixture of both - more the minimalist but I do save some things! I do love your decorations tho.
I am definitely a "packer". But at this time in my life, I am trying to sort out, to eliminate. Not fun, not easy!
Since moving into a small apartment I have had to give up packratitis :)

I believe I am stricken with this ailment as well!:-)
Definitely not a pack rat...I like things very simple....so put me down as a minimalist.
I actually like to decorate at a minimum because my house is small and don't like lots of clutter. But I think your Fall décor is so pretty, and that mask makes it whimsical! It's mysterious, and goes well with all the Fall colors. Nice job, Susan.
love, ~Sheri
I don't any more...LOL I never save anything for the "future" and only keep it if it can be used right away. I had way too many items and it just tired me out. I feel freer now after purging. :) Kit
I am definitely in no way, shape or form a minimalist but I am definitely trying to minimize my belongings. :)
