Just for the Love of It....

Have you ever seen something you just loved for no particular reason?

Very occasionally, when that happens to me, and if the item is affordable, I buy it.

Call it impulse buying (or weakness) but it is what it is.

If an object of my affection makes me smile when I glance in its direction, it is worth the cost.

Such was the case of the pink glass "perfume" bottle.

Now I'd never use it for perfume storage.

I just liked it and put it on a windowsill upstairs.

The window looks into my home office.

It's at the top of the stairs in a place one would never expect to see a window.

Guess I'll never really know why that window was placed there.

DOES EVERYTHING YOU, PERSONALLY, BUY HAVE TO HAVE A SPECIFIC PURPOSE?

  1. Not at all. I bought a woven piece that had the colors of Heather and reminded me of our trip to Scotland...just because I loved it! That can just be the reason, my friend, XOXO

  2. Hmmm - I have bought things I like when I see them. I go to the one Christmas Shop and found if you don't buy it when you see it - it will not be there when you come back.

I like your rose perfume vase.

I also loved to see your office - where you are when you work.

    Lovely,

  3. I buy lots of things that have a purpose, but I think it is so important to have beauty in your home and things that just make you happy to look at them. Art, pottery, books, glass ware. I bought a little jar with a bird lid the other day for $3 because it is just so cute and springy!!

  4. Yes I'm a Capricorn and a very practical person. I only shop for things I need and everything I buy has to have a purpose. I'm not an impulse shopper at all. As a matter of fact I hate to shop period.Hope you get your March header on soon Susan.

  5. The Pink perfume bottle is unique and pretty, Susan. And your window upstairs is charming. I usually buy things that are one-of-a-kind or make me smile, just as this item did you. I think that's the best way to purchase something....if it makes us happy.

  7. Oh how pretty! I can see why you liked it. No, not everything has to have a purpose but it does have to have a place in my home. I do not like excess clutter so I have to have a definite place in my head for the item. :) Kit
