Holding Up During the Coronavirus Crisis

How are you holding up during the coronavirus crisis?

It's a perilous time for sure.

At our house,  hubs and I are staying in, like birds inside a birdhouse.

We peek out every so often, just to catch a glimpse of the outside world.

My heart goes out to all who have died from this deadly disease, especially the hundreds of people in Italy.

Could that happen here, in the USA?

I imagine it could if people don't take this seriously.

I try to stem the fearful reports by limiting news on television.

It's important, too, to keep busy inside the house.

There certainly is a lot to do and absolutely no reason of any kind to be bored.

I like to look at something beautiful, too, like flowers or some of my favorite items like dolls and cranberry glass.

Of course, I join thousands upon thousands of others in constant prayer.

Still, tears come suddenly when I hear a beautiful song or see something on Facebook that touches my heart.

Emotions are quite raw and near the surface of life these dark and scary days.

My faith is helping me during all of this, Susan. I will miss going to mass, but I can watch it on tv, and saying the Rosary really does bring peace. I was a stay at home mom for many years, so staying home is second nature to me. There is always something to do in the home, and it's my favorite place to be. But I feel for those who like to travel and are more adventurous, as we will all need to stay inside now more than ever. Yes, not too many television reports, but definitely be updated and take it seriously. Stay well, dear friend. Your blog posts always lift the spirits, so I enjoy visiting often. : )

I am so grateful for the many people I follow on blogs, Facebook, and Twitter who are doing so many lovely things online to buoy people's spirits. There is a community feeling that I've never seen quite like this on social media, because in truth we are all in this together, no matter where in the world we live. And people are really responding in kind.

Like you, Hubby and I are staying close to home, basically going out only when we need a few groceries. I'm keeping occupied with a decluttering/writing project (I'm chatting about it on my blog today).

Wishing you grace for this season, Susan.

I rederate every thing you said. We are staying in ourselves. I am so concerned for the country. The doctors - the patients - the small companies - the larger companies - church - stores - everything - just praying and worrying is a full time job.

I am putting my winter clothes away and summer out.

Susan, you are so right. Emotions are very near the surface. I am trying to get outside each day to enjoy the wonderful weather we have in Atlanta right now. It is keeping me sane. xo Laura

Our pastor is sending daily Mass videos to us and that is very comforting. I find that prayer is a big help. Yesterday I played the piano for almost an hour and music is also very comforting. I hope this crisis is over soon and I know that many people feel the same way. We must follow our leaders directions and stay safe.

Hello my friend! It warms my heart to hear of all the cases of people helping people. I stay home and even stay away from my children. We wave from the house when they come by. You take care and stay well. Love, Kit
