A popular children's song, about walking in the jungle, emphasizes that the walkers were not afraid of all the sounds they heard.
On a mini-excursion one sunny day, just to escape the confines of the house after two months inside, hubs and I drove to Balance Rock State Park in western Massachusetts.
We went walking in the forest, not the jungle!
We walked a little in the gorgeous fresh air, surrounded by woods.
It was blissfully quiet and sunshine illuminating through the trees caused patterned shadows on the forest floor.
Glances down proved that even the forest floor was quite picturesque.
There were acorns:
And pine cones:
And even, perhaps, a real fairy door in the bottom of a large tree trunk?
We had a previous post on the majestic trees in the forest and, if you are interested, you can find it here.
WHAT PART OF MOTHER NATURE DO YOU ENJOY EXPLORING?

I am so glad you got out for the day and made that memory.
Hey your pine cones look different than our pine cones! lol
Haven't been anywhere other than my backyard to observe nature but I've had hummingbirds, yellow finches, baby lizards, bunnies, and flowering plants and trees so does that count?
I walked around a small park lake and took some interesting pictures, which I will post tomorrow. I love taking nature photos.
