Fragile

Some decorative items tend to tug at our hearts.

They might even be fragile.

On a trip to Colorado, a couple of summers ago, the lovely china roses shown in this post, came home with me to the east coast.

They originally came from England so they are well-traveled china roses.

The lovely bouquet was found on a jam-packed shelf in a Goodwill store.

Whenever traveling, it's always fun to pop into a thrift store.

It stretches one's money and is kind of like a treasure hunt in a different place.

The roses, now perched on a home office windowsill, never fail to bring a smile.

Just like life, itself, they are fragile, so must be handled with care.

This fragile rose certainly speaks to this fragile time in your own life. So glad to think its beauty brings a measure of comfort right now. Sending heart hugs, Brenda xo

Yes, life is fragile, but like your rose it is also very beautiful. It's nice to know that you are seeing the beauty. Roses are also very strong. I think you are very strong, too. Fragility and strength together. I'm still praying.

If I am not mistaken, I think that dish of cermaic roses is from the 1950s and is probably a collector's piece. My daughter has rose adroend dishes. Pretty. Hope you have a good day.

That is such a gorgeous item, Susan. It kind of reminds me of the little porcelain tea pot that my Mom gave me that has three pink roses on it too. It's also fragile, but it hasn't broken after all the moves I've had. This is really a treasure that you found at the Goodwill store. Sometimes we come across such wonderful items at that store. You're right, browsing through a thrift store is like a treasure hunt. Your blog warms my heart, dear Susan.

Susan, such a thoughtful post. That rose is quite beautiful. I am a Colorado native, born and raised here as well as my hubby and all the kids. Life is so fragile. We have to handle it carefully. I appreciate this thoughtful post. I am glad I stopped by for a second visit today. HUGS to you across the miles.
