Gifts of Love

Every year when it's time to decorate for the holidays,  out comes the bin with the old but still lovely tablecloths.

This year, however, buying a new one was in order.

After so many sad happenings this year, it felt right to add a brand new and beautiful table cloth to the stash.

The red and white one, shown in this post, found at Target, reminded me of an Eastern Europe design.

That is where all four of my late grandparents came from, both Lithuania and Poland.

I also  decided to buy myself some Oriental lilies because their fragrance is so incredibly beautiful.

Sometimes, we just need to be gentle and kind with ourselves and treat ourselves with love.

This lovely decoration with the Blessed Mother is one of my favorite things.

It was a gift from, Jana,  a precious friend in Georgia, and it stays out all year long, not just at Thanksgiving and Christmas time.

When we are kind to ourselves, we can give even more to others.

WHAT WAS THE LAST NICE THING YOU DID FOR YOURSELF?

Stayed in my warm chair with my electric blanket. I didn’t even take my jammies off. Felt great!

Sat in my green chair in my bedroom with my sliding glass door open and caught beautiful warm sunrays while reading a favorite book in my kindle.

I remember your Mary and Jesus ornament, Susan, it's beautiful. And I think I told you I have one similar to it. Your red table runner looks so festive and lovely on your table. There's just something about RED during the holidays. Yes, we have to treat ourselves once in awhile. It's been awhile since I did so, and I thank you for the gentle reminder.

What a gorgeous tablecloth! I haven’t been out shopping in 8 months! Fresh flowers make such a difference! The shopper at my favorite market knows how to choose some nice ones when I have flowers on my list for curbside pickup! It’s especially helpful to surround ourselves with what we consider beautiful!

Your post evoked so many memories for me. Those lilies were in my wedding bouquet. A unique wedding with 96 other couples because I won a wedding package on a radio station by writing a paradoy song. It was ajoyous time. Also my friends adopted a little boy from Lithuania. He is in highschool now, but your pretty table cloth reminded me of them. He was my student many years ago.
