It Begins with Our Thoughts...

Human beings have a powerful ability to make each day of life better.

It begins with our thoughts.

Most recently, one of many inspirational books on a bedside table, emphasized this and it was so good to think about it.

What our minds tell us is extremely important.

For example, if we start off the day with positive thoughts, along with, perhaps, a smile and humming a favorite tune, chances are the morning, and maybe even the rest of the day, will be good.

Throwing in a bit of gratitude for the littlest thing helps, too.

Believe me, this theory has been tested and re-tested and it works.

Today, for instance,  delicious morning coffee, breakfast, and the fact that tulips, lilies, and roses are still alive in vases all over the house, contributed to a nice start to the day.

The pretty pillow shown in the photos is delicate and lacy.

It was a fairly recent thrift store find that spent one night in the below freezing temps out on a front porch chair before being brought inside.

Just looking at it brings a bit of cheer since it's good to surround ourselves with objects of beauty.

I go to the pool first thing in the morning after waking up. There I exercise in the water and that bring about great hormones and positive thoughts for the day. Then I come home and have a great breakfast/brunch. The shining sun helps to make my mood happy.

What lovely lacy hearts. I have a similar one in blue and white. If I wasn't so 'lazy', I'd go take a picture and show you. It's one my mom made for me years ago.

I love your post about how you start your days in such gentle and positive ways. I have stacks of inspirational reading by my bedside. I tend to dip into them often, either last thing at night or first thing in the morning. It's a good way to set the tone for the day.

Wishing you joy and heart's ease this week, Susan!

Susan, my Mom sewed a lace heart just like this many years ago, but it was lavender. So glad that you found one in pink. It's so pretty. I used to put mine on the tree every year at Christmas, and after giving away many ornaments, I'm wondering if I still have it.

You find the most interesting thrift store finds. You're right, dear Susan.....it begins with our thoughts. : )

Hi Susan, I love to browse thru grift stores. This dainty pillow is sweet. I enjoy a quiet breakfast looking out at the birds. Last year, my blue bird home had three families! Wishing you a blessed evening, Mildred at Laurel Wood blog
