Pink Flowered Hurricane Lamp

One never knows what surprises life will bring.

Several years ago, while perusing a ReStore, a kind of thrift store whose sales help Habitat for Humanity, a drop dead gorgeous Hurricane lamp just about made me keel over with delight.

Its round globes were pink with stunning pink roses.

After catching my breath when seeing the lamp was affordable and standing in the aisle for a spell, I bought it.

The time was close to my friend, Patti's birthday so I gifted the lamp to her.

She loved it and kept it during several moves.

My dear friend died recently and her daughter very kindly returned the lamp to my house.

So looking at it is bittersweet as it makes me think of Patti.

I am truly glad my friend enjoyed it for several years.

Of course, I will love her and the memory of our friendship forever.

It's so hard to lose those we love, even though we know we will meet again one day.

WHAT, IF ANYTHING, DO YOU KNOW ABOUT HURRICANE LAMPS?

Hi Susan, I have visited several ReStores. This pink lamp with the roses on the globes is so gorgeous. Your dear friend, Patti, would be so happy you now have the lamp. I know it is bittersweet and that you miss her very much. Some forty years ago, my late mom saw a ruby red hurricane lamp in an antique store and my late dad bought it for her. I can only imagine how beautiful this lamp is in the evening in your home. Thank you for sharing. My deepest sympathy in the loss of your friend.
