It's growing in a terra cotta pot right on the kitchen counter.
The lettuce, fresh tomato slices, crispy bacon, and whole grain bread with mayo, lettuce, salt, and pepper make a very tasty sandwich.
Snip, snip and the lettuce is ready for the bowl.
Next day, it grows again and replenishes the lettuce that was cut the previous day.
For dessert on BLT day, a cup of yogurt with chopped strawberries, pecan halves, and a little plop of sour cream hits the spot.
As Rachel Ray would say, "Yum.

Oh now I am craving BLT. There is a place in town that serves BLTs with a pound of bacon piled high. Crown candy Kitchen has wonderful ice cream delights, not to mention the old fashioned ambaince and old world charm.
That is my very favorite sandwich and I had one this past week. Very yummy.
