It's so important to find even small things to be thankful for these days when the news around the world is so very terrible and tragic.
A few years ago, my sister, Barb, downsized big time.
She had a huge yard sale, sold a lot of her possessions, and moved to smaller quarters than her former house.
One of her possessions I always loved is a brass stand with thick glass shelves.
When she gave it to me, I felt so thrilled.
Due to indecision of where it should go in my house, it temporarily got placed in the cellar.
The other day, when thinking about where to put some plants, the brass and glass stand came to mind and I almost ran downstairs to get it.
Retrieving it was no fun and I wouldn't do it again by myself because of the chance taken to fall and get badly hurt.
But by some miracle, I got it upstairs, very heavy glass shelves and all!
The plants are so happy in front of the kitchen door's window and bask in the sunshine during the day.
The red dangling ornament is a gift from my cousin, Johnny.
The crystal star is from my son and daughter-in-law.
The pink stained glass and pressed flower piece hangs farther up on the window.
My niece, Marisa, gifted me with the spider plant, in memory of her younger brother. So today, and every day from now on, I'm going to be thankful for the brass and glass stand, the flowers on top of it, all the people who gave me things shown, and life, itself.
WHAT IS ONE THING YOU ARE GRATEFUL FOR THAT YOU CAN SEE RIGHT NOW?

I'm going to see and hear my grandson Asher play his trombone with his high school symphony tonight at a huge venue where the Pacific Symphony performs. I am really looking forward to this concert.
Love your plants and the holder for them too. I wonder where they will go when you downsize?
One thing I'm grateful that I can see right now?
The garden on a sunny afternoon from my study window. Although it's still covered in snow, I can see by the way the sun is angled today that Spring isn't too far away anymore. Daylight is getting longer.
I'm so glad you made it up the stairs in one piece with your beautiful brass stand. It looks lovely in front of your window -- your flowers will surely love that spot.
Wishing you a beautiful weekend, Susan.

that brass and glass tea cart is gorgeous and works well as a flower display shelf. I am anxious for spring flowers. I am most grateful for the daffodils erupting in the back yard.
