Kindness

On a small table upstairs sits a fat packet of notes for each day of the year.

They were found at a yard sale.

The only identifying writing on it is a small front cover that reads, MUSTARD SEEDS.

Today's reading resonates with me, and, hopefully, with you!

"There would be more sanity, greater peace of mind, a salvaging of human souls, if people were more kind."

What is the last kindness shown to you?

I like his one, Susan, and I like that you share these from time to time. They are great reminders for us to hear. Have a blessed rest of the week.

A daughter of a good friend who passed away two years ago called me and is taking me out to lunch. So nice of her to think of me and very kind of her.

The last kindness shown to me? Oh my, which shall I pick?

Two notes arrived in the mail the other day for me! One was an early birthday card from a long-time friend, and the other was a note from a dear blogging friend who felt the need to touch base in snail mail time. Both notes really made my heart sing that day.

Oh, I just thought of something else that was truly lovely. I went for a few groceries and the older woman at the checkout had such a kindness about her. She looked me in the eye and asked how I was when it was my turn to check out. I responded, and we had a bit of chat. And then she looked me again in the eye as she came round to hand me my grocery bill, all neatly folded.

These last two years when we'd hurry in and out of grocery stores, everyone keeping social distance, well, I'd forgotten how lovely it felt for someone to notice me as a person, look me in the eye, and make me feel seen. It was beautiful. I wish I'd gotten her name.

Susan, your Mustard Seed notes sound like a real treasure. Thanks for sharing today's reading.

Wishing you a beautiful weekend.
