Pretty Table Runner

During a recent visit to a dear friend's house in New York, it was impossible not to admire a lovely table runner in her kitchen.

She bought it at a yard sale and it looks brand new.

Flowers and colors are always smile-worthy.

The red crocheted edges zoomed me right back to childhood.

My maternal grandmother had white curtains with red crocheted edges, just like the table runner had.

Alexandra Stoddard, an interior designer and writer, said to surround one's self with beautiful objects.

The table runner is definitely one of them.

WHAT IS SOMETHING IN YOUR OWN SPACE THAT YOU ABSOLUTELY LOVE?

That table runner is so vibrant and alive. What delight to see. Your friend must loving displaying it.

Over the years we have surrounded ourselves with lovely artwork for our walls. The one that I especially love and gaze at often is a massive painting of hydrangeas done by a local artist. It sits on our dining room wall. It was an anniversary present to ourselves right in the middle of Covid 2020 lockdown. And gave us so much joy when the gallery delivered it to our door one wintry evening.

Oh that table runner is gorgeous. I do not use table runners. I think I've only had one in all my years....I have a lovely painting from New Zealand that my son gifted me of the countryside there that I just love.

That is really a nice table runner, Susan. Looks like a lot of detail and work went into it, and the red crocheted edges are so pretty. It's nice that this table runner reminds you of your grandmother.

Well, it's hard to say what I absolutely love in my own space because everything that I have kept and is out I really love and cherish.

I just love the red in your friend's table runner. And I appreciate what the designer and writer said. I'll have to remember that.

Lots of fine detail work went into the beauty of that runner. My livingroom has a beach theme, but my favorite is a large print behind our couch in a blue frame with our photo inset. Reminds me of my favorite place and gives me a peaceful, happy feeling.
