A Peaceful Mind

As one gets older, there is often a deep desire to seek peace.

Squabbles with friends or family, differences of political opinions, or hanging around with people who emanate conflict and negativity, all seem to be less important as one seeks peace.

With that thought in mind, a chair yoga instructor explained the importance of gentle yoga classes.

Some people prefer a more strenuous workout. However, the instructor explained that yoga that is gentle on the body is also advantageous for resulting in a gentle mindset.

That's a good thing to have a gentle mind. To me, that is synonymous with peace.

A visit on Memorial Day to a cemetery brought peace.

That's a place where one's priorities definitely fall into place.

It's quiet in a cemetery and well, it's peaceful there, too.

So today, wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I hope you find precious peace.

WHAT BRINGS YOU PEACE OR WHERE AND HOW DO YOU FIND IT?

The most peaceful place is the garden with my two cats, where the most stressful event is their apprehension of lizards, roaches, grasshoppers. I think there can be such a thing as too much peace, then things can get boring. There is nothing as interesting as a good political argument and debate on some of the best politics sites on the net like Political Wire, Breitbart, Mediate, National Zero just to name a few.

I so enjoy visiting the cemetery and would you believe that Sam and I are regular visitors there. We take care of about 20 new trees that Sam planted there last year. Making sure they are sprayed and watered. It is so very peaceful!! another peaceful place for me is Barnes and Nobel book store. I could go sit in there for hours.

A peaceful mind is so important, Susan. You're right, too much division in the world. I'm glad you found the cemetery to be a peaceful place to visit for a while. I enjoy spending time there as well. I get to see my loved ones, and reflect on many things. That looks like Saint Anthony, my beloved Saint. So gentle and good. That first photo is beautiful, Susan.

I hope the June days are kind to you.

I’m a volunteer contributor to Find-a-Grave. I love it because I can visit many cemeteries. I especially enjoy the old pioneer graveyards off the beaten path. So peaceful

I find peace in nature...beautiful sunshine, ocean waves and a view of the sky . I live in a beautiful environment and I am so happy that I do. I have a special place I go where I see all of the above and find peace.
