Just as it's impossible to imagine a home or an apartment without books, the same thing goes for art.
Art adds so much to a living space.
One can choose paintings with the same theme or select a variety of subjects.
The art on the walls of my own apartment reflect a variety of themes.
However, I am definitely partial to florals. The one shown in today's post, of yellow roses, was found in a thrift store.
It's extremely lovely, was selected by my daughter, and became a gift for her.
She loves it, too, and it is perched on one side of the family fireplace in her home.
I have no idea where the artist who painted it is from, or whether that person is still alive, but the painting touches the heart.
WHAT KIND OF ART DO YOU LOVE?

I have paintings that were made by different members of my own family like my son, my daughter in law and my sister. Also one that my friend Sandra gifted me of red roses. I love all kinds of paintings. The one you gave your daughter is lovely.
Oh Susan, this is beautiful. I have been looking around for something just like this with yellow flowers for Spring and Summertime to lay against the wall of my table. You find the most wonderful things at the Thrift Store. This art piece is so pretty, and I know she will love looking at it on her fireplace mantel every day. The colors are soft, and very pretty. It looks a bit cottage style. I love it. Great find, Susan.

What a beautifully detailed floral painting! My grandfather was an artist, and we have a number of paintings and ink drawings from him. So my enjoyment of art was an early part of my life. I have collected florals, still lifes, pictures of ships, fox hunt scenes and landscapes. Some from thrift stores and the "starving artist" shows that used to be held at hotels in the 90's. I'm in real estate and use some of them to stage vacant homes. Thank you for sharing your collections with us. Linda
This is a beautiful piece of art Susan. While I love any type of floral art, my preference is Mixed Media Art. Not just any mixed media, I like the ones that have bright and bold colors. However, our home has a variety of art pieces from flowers to simple drawings.
