Bless the Silence

Most days, in the apartment, music of some kind is playing.

There are times, however, when choosing silence, instead of music, becomes the thing to do.

Perhaps it's due to a longing to connect more with the Creator.

It's easier to hear Him without distractions of any kind, including music.

Silence can be very welcome and even healing.

Even if chaos surrounds us in the world, times of silence, while alone, can restore.

Today, may you receive many blessings.

DO YOU ENJOY TIMES OF SILENCE?

A little music is OK, now there is loud music everywhere and it's annoying. Excessive music and the entertainment industry's drivel is pablum for the masses. Too bad they are being used be corporations, elites, banks and corrupt governments to distract from the fact that average folks are getting fleeced.

As a former “rocker” back in the day, I have grown to appreciate silence. I no longer feel the need to blast my hearing with music that no longer fills my soul. Sure I love good music but often times in my day, I’m okay with quiet, too.
Lovely post!

I never play music CDs or turn on music stations. I only hear music if I am watching a show that has it in it. Otherwise I love it completely silent at my house. The only time you will hear music is if I'm playing the piano and singing. Ha

Yes, I not only enjoy times of silence, I need it. We live in a world of constant go go go, and it's necessary to have those quiet moments to reflect. There are times for joy and fun, but we should take time to silence ourselves too. We can hear and feel special things that are all around us, which we can't notice or hear when it's LOUD.

I'm wishing you wonderful May days, Susan, filled with fun, wonder, joy, peace, and silence.

Hi Susan....Oh goodness..I love silence. Many times when I am home during the day...it is just me, God and quietness in the room.

As a mom of two musicians and married to one too, I rarely had quiet while my kids were growing up. Now, as an empty nester, I miss the sound of guitars coming from behind bedroom doors. My boys will come over and grab one of the guitars hanging from the wall and begin to strum as we talk. I love it :) But yes...the silence is precious too. I love to have a quiet house where I can read my Bible outloud, sing to the Lord and just walk and pray.

I can relate to the peace that silence can bring. Sometimes, turning off the noise allows us to reconnect in ways that music, as lovely as it is, can’t always offer. I do find those moments of quiet to be healing and restorative, especially when surrounded by life’s busyness. I just posted a new blog about Body Confident You: Body Confident Kid, and I'd love for you to take a look and share your thoughts: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2025/05/body-confident-you-body-confident-kid-book-review.html. Wishing you many peaceful moments of silence today!

I do love my quiet time. But I am also a music lover. We have had so much rain and grateful it is lifting. I don't care for the high temps swooping in but somehow I will deal with it. Just happy to be here.
