Stress Release at the Ocean

A one day trip to the ocean is worth a thousand pills.

This past weekend, an excursion to the ocean lifted spirits, brought deep release from stress, and gave even a little hope for the future.

There is just something mesmerizing about the sound of incoming waves crashing against the sandy shore.

My respite took place at Narragansett Beach in Rhode Island.  My daughter, son-in-law, and three local grands invited me to join them on the one day trip.

Seagulls swooped down low through the air before landing near people under multi-colored umbrellas.

The birds landed precariously close to others stretched out on blankets on the sandy shore along the beach, soaking up the hot sunshine.

Colorful kites dotted the sky over the vast expanse of water as kite surfing took place by the brave.

A couple threw a ball back and forth and each cradled the ball in  circled devices that had  probably Velcro coverings.

What, exactly, the tennis-like sport was remained unknown to me.  Does this sound familiar to anyone?

It was great fun watching all the people walking along the shoreline.  There were all kinds of body types and fashions, including thong bikini bottoms. Yowsers.

Everything was great, including some delicious fat-bellied clams that had been yearned for.

The beach turned out to be a perfect place to forget one's troubles and problems. No worries were allowed at the beach.

For one, sweet and precious day, they were all put on hold.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF GOING TO THE BEACH?

I live very close to many beaches on the Pacific Ocean. I get away from the heat inland and always have a sense of relaxation and peace.

The beach is great, you really appreciate it when relocating inland. I call those thong bikini bottoms "yeast infection suits"
