"Adollable" Companions

 "Adollable" is a made-up word.

My dolls, however, a vast collection of them, are adorable so thus, the word came into being.

Not all of them made the cut to move to the apartment since I gave several away and sold others in advance of the move.

Way too many did make it, though, and I'm sure there will be more cuts once the move is completed.

I might keep just the ones dressed in pink. We'll see. I might have to make it pink and purple, or pink, purple, and yellow.

See what I'm up against?

Truly, when I saw all the dolls my granddaughter set up on some front hall entry stairs that are not used, a shock wave ran through me.

Most of them bring back lots of memories on how and where they came to me.

It's amazing how we accumulate and don't even realize it.

Doll Babies Are One of Life's Pleasures

All of my life, I have loved dolls.

Even as a very young little girl, there was rarely a photo taken of me without a doll in my arms.

Now, in the last part of life, dolls still bring me great pleasure and joy.

So, from time to time, I will share some of my faves.

Sadly, I am beginning to downsize and some of the beauties have already departed. More will be doing so in the near future.

The doll in this post is Rapunzel.

Remember in the story how long her hair was?

This dolly is sooooo pretty.

Looking at her just makes me smile.

She sits in the corner of a couch in the living room with lacy pillows at her feet.

Think I'll keep this one because she is my sweet Rapunzel.

DO YOU LIKE DOLLS? IF YES, DO YOU HAVE A FAVE? CAN YOU SHARE HER WITH US?

Dolls, Candy, and More

A few days ago, in a post titled "Candy Heaven,"  we told you about a super duper toy and candy store and promised a look at a few more things they carried.

So today, we'll show you some of the adorable dollies for little ones that are for sale there.

(I have no association of any kind with the store and just like to share things with you that have interested me.)

In addition, there is a Halloween table that's definitely spooky.

The old gent looks pretty real and when he's activated, he becomes an even scarier fellow.

YOWSERS!

DO YOU EVER START YOUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING EARLY?

Oh, You Beautiful Dolls

The dolls in the dining room Guatemalan cabinet are about to be relocated to the second floor as decorating for the holidays commences.

Just a  couple dolls will stick around downstairs  for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Among them is the little sweetie pie, right below, who has previously been written up on this blog here and here.

Her pink, lacy dress has already been exchanged for the red Christmas velvet!

She was found, dirty and disheveled, at a church yard sale.

After a major clean-up as well as dressing her up, she became quite the beauty.

Decorating for the holidays takes a great deal of preparation, as most of you already know.

So much has to be packed away to make room for Christmas decor but, in the end, it will be worth it.

ARE DOLLS ANY PART OF YOUR HOLIDAY DECORATIONS?

For Cindy's Show and Tell Friday: Favorite Dolls

Inside every woman lives the little girl she once was.

As a child, my first love was for dolls of all shapes, sizes, and styles.

The obsession continued throughout my entire life until now.

Without a modicum of guilt,  I admit that I love dolls.  Okay, so I'm a doll fanatic.  All right, I'm crazy about dolls but I try, really hard, not to buy any more.

It's been quite awhile since I shared some of the beauties in my collection so today, would you bear with me?

Many of my dollies are dressed in pink with lots of lace! Some wear light lavender colored dresses and a couple are in yellow.  Can you tell I'm a romantic?

Here's another shot of my old-fashioned sweethearts.

Even if you can't stand dolls, please don't tell me, okay?  If you like dolls,  just enjoy!

Okay, that's a smattering of my doll collection. It would take until Monday to show them all. See?  Told you I was crazy about dolls.
DO YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO COLLECTS DOLLS?

Now hop on over to Cindy's blog (button in sidebar), "My Romantic Home" and check out some other show and tell offerings. You'll be glad you did!

Old-Fashioned Beauties For Cindy's Friday Show and Tell at "My Romantic Home"

Dolls in old-fashioned satin and lace dresses can add a touch of Victorian elegance to a decor.

A couple of the beauties shown in today's post even have tiny silk rosebuds sewn into their fancy dresses.  They have gorgeous locks of hair and long eyelashes, too.

The dolls in our house used to reside in a small room of their own on the second floor. However, little by little, they have come down to the main living area.  They are too pretty to keep hidden away. So some are on the main table in the front hallway, others are on a table in the dining room, and a couple sit in little chairs near the fireplace.

Each doll has her own personality and aura. Some have brown locks, others are blondes, and a few have red hair!

The one on the left reminds me of Heidi!

This little doll's dress is covered with cherries.

Here's an adorable blonde doll who is actually part of a
lamp! She holds a fancy umbrella and is all dressed in pink.

She was a gift from my daughter.

These are a few of the dolls from my collection. Hope you enjoyed looking at them!

DO YOU STILL LIKE DOLLS?  WERE THEY A PART OF YOUR CHILDHOOD?
