Little Things Bring Great Joy

Joy.

That's what I wish for you today and throughout the rest of the holiday season.

The letters that spell out "joy" in our kitchen are perched on the top of the kitchen stove.

They were  painted in El Salvador, Central America.

The arts and crafts from that country are very colorful.

It saddens me to think of the struggle to just live most Salvadorians have on a daily basis.

There is probably not too much joy in that country, as well as many others, this Christmas.

A home, family, food, and safety are all immense gifts. If we have been given them, we are beyond blessed.

It doesn't take huge amounts of money to bring us joy.

Just loving and appreciating what we have been given, no matter how little, can fill our hearts to overflowing with joy.

WHAT BRINGS YOU JOY? PLEASE SHARE WITH US.

Wind Chimes and Birdies

It doesn't take major things to make us happy.

Around here, flowers, winged visitors to a humble bird bath and wind chimes can all count toward making a happy day.

Wind chimes?  Uh huh.

A dear girlfriend gave some to hubs for his birthday.

He hung them on the back porch.

Honestly, the soft chiming they make never fails to bring smiles.

The are soothing and pleasant to the ear.

Even though the sound the chimes make is soft, I was a little worried about disturbing the neighbors.

None have complained so the chimes will stay!

Another thing that brings instant happiness is seeing birds taking sips of water out of the birdbath.

That is just thrilling. See?  Little things can contribute so much to our happiness.

WHAT IS ONE THING THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY RIGHT NOW?
