Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere

Displays of pumpkins and gourds at this time of year are so totally delightful.

Shown in this post are photos taken at Guido's, a specialty supermarket in western Massachusetts.

Their displays are very colorful and reminiscent of fall.

Enjoy each moment of autumn.

Drink in the bright sunshine, cool temps, roadside stands, astounding foliage, and lovely scenes.

All of them are gifts to us from Mother Nature's bounty.

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, and More Pumpkins...

This is the time of year when pumpkins dominate.

There is pumpkin-everything in the supermarkets.

There are homes that pile dozens of different kinds of pumpkins and squash in their front yards to create artistic scenes.

There's also something very appealing about seeing a lighted pumpkin in a window at night.

The happy-faced ones, like the fella at the top of this post,  bring the most smiles.

Believe it or not, pumpkin soup is quite delicious.

If you've never tried it, maybe that's something daring you can think about doing.

If attending a farmers market this weekend is on your "to do" list, be sure to pick up some pumpkins, in all sizes, to add a touch of whimsy and fun to your place.

Then, of course, there's always pumpkin pie with real whipped cream on top that tickles the tastebuds. Yum!

A Colorful Moose in the Pumpkin "Patch"

The Apple Barn in Bennington, Vermont, offers a perfect setting for wonderful photo opportunities.

Just look at this colorful moose out in front of the barn.

The pumpkins and mums add to the festive atmosphere.

There are painted wooden cutouts just yearning for models!

It's so much fun going on one-day excursions to a different place, don't you think?

Touches of Autumn Around the House

Now that fall is officially here, we can bask in some of her wonderful offerings.

One of the best parts of any season is adding special touches to our homes.

There are so many ways to do this in autumn.

How about some dried corn for the front door?

Or some weird-looking gourds in a wooden bowl on the kitchen table?

A fall scene painted on a  sign hanging on the front porch is a welcoming  touch.

The artist who painted this one did a great job, don't you think?

It kind of makes you want to jump into the painting and walk down that road, doesn't it?

By the way, this painted wall hanging sells for $18.99 at the farm stand listed below.

While we all usually love big pumpkins, petite ones are adorable, too.

Pile them high in a glass bowl, spread them out on a tray or line them up on a windowsill, shelf or top of a doorway.

Why not add some pretty touches to your house, condo or apartment?

By the way, all of the photos in today's post are from a visit to Whitney's Farm market in Cheshire, Massachusetts.

It's such a cool place to visit.

Autumn: A Time to Rejoice Over Nature's Gifts

Majestic autumn is definitely a favorite month.

There's a tinge of woodsmoke in the air which is cooler and more refreshing than summer's winds.

Wherever you go, beauty greets you. Trees have burst into luscious colors and shimmer in the afternoon sun.

Farm stands are alive with color. Mounds of bright orange pumpkins make selecting the perfect one an absolutely impossible task.

There are scarecrows, bunches of corn husks, bales of straw, and dried corns-on-the-cob, all ready to help a person decorate for fall.

Look at this gorgeous yellow plant. Wouldn't you love to hang it from your porch?

These are absolutely humongous pumpkins. It would be hard to pick up these big boys.

All of the photos shown today were snapped at Whitney's, a bustling farm stand business in Western Massachusetts. They have a really thriving business.

This scene looks like a still life, doesn't it?

Could this be the perfect pumpkin of the day?

When all is said and done, looking at these pumpkins, two words come to mind, namely, pumpkin pie. Now how many pies do you think you could make from all these pumpkins? Or how many pumpkin muffins? Isn't that a mind-boggling question?
