A Great Place to Visit and Shop!

Old Mistick Village in Mystic, Connecticut, has more than 60 shops that have a huge variety of offerings. It's a great place to visit and one could spend an entire day walking along the quaint sidewalks and going into the many buildings.

The Early American village setting, according to a brochure, was the brainchild of Jerry G. Olson. He patterned it after a dream of his parents, Martin and June. His father immigrated from Norway to the United States.

In one shop, Angel Haven, visitors can find out which arch angel was assigned to them on the day of birth. I was elated to find that mine was Uriel, "the fire of God."

This is one of the statues outside of the shop.

This angel also stands guard outside the Angel Haven.

In a shop called Sofia's Mystical Christmas, it's Christmas all year long with hundreds of decorations so varied they defy description. A group of sparkling divas screamed out for attention. (See related photos)

Olde Mistick Village has an all Italian Shop where cds to learn Italian while driving were purchased. There are Scandinavian and Irish shops, too!

Olde Mistick Village would make a good day trip anytime the shopping bug starts to bite!

Hi Susan: Those shops sound like Heaven. I would have loved to go. At least I get to see them thru your eyes. Thanks so much. I especially love all the angels. Blessings and peace my dear friend. Martha
