China Cupid?
Thrift store shopping, always adventurous and fun, can turn up some great treasures.
Such was the case one day when I spotted this darling little Cupid-looking figure. He's perched on the edge of a Victorian vase. Tiny arms and hands lifted up in the air, he's got a charming face. Lips are turned up in a miniscule smile. His cheeks are as rosy as an apple! Nearby are small, colored ceramic flowers.
Across from the adorable boy figure is a bird, perhaps a dove. An ornate handle separates them. There's gold edging on the outside of the vase.
The vase is a favorite so remains displayed throughout the year. Near Valentine's Day, however, it gets placed front and center.
When found, the $2.99 price tag seemed extremely reasonable.
So Cupid figure now has a new home.
Do you like Victorian decor?

Hey Susan, this brings back more memories. My mom always collected huge ceramic pieces which decorated her formal living room. As kids and teens, it was an off-limit room. Many of them were bought very inexpensively at the time. My sisters would bring them home at Christmas - some very fine and unique pieces.
Thanks for sharing. Warm memories.
I've got a link for you. Thought you might be interested. Good info. http://howtobeapaidwriter.mysite.com/

I enjoy Thrift Shop bargain hunting. Next Friday our local shop has a 1/2 price sale. I plan to be there when the doors open.
I spotted a cute blue and white pitcher that would look great with flowers. I hope it's still there next week.
Blessings,
Susan :)
