Is It Spring Yet?

(Click on photo to make it larger. Maybe that will hurry spring along.)

Winter's Lament

I'm sick of snow
And winds that blow.
I'd rather fight
Than see more white.

I'd just as soon "grovel"
Than grab a shovel.
Windows won't open
Doors won't close.
A frozen ice cube
Resembles my nose.

Shivers, slush, and where's the light?
Just like autumn, it's taken flight.
Hey! Snow clouds above, put on the brake
I don't want to see another frosty flake.

Under the covers I hide my head
The best thing about winter's my warm, comfy bed.
No matter what the coming weeks will bring,
Don't wake me up 'til you say, "It's spring!"

(Just for the record, when I looked out the window this morning, guess what I saw? MORE SNOW. The cars and ground are covered with it! Because I cannot go back to my warm, comfy bed, guess I'd better learn one thing fast. LIVE WITH IT! Have a great day!)

Well I HATE to rub it in but it is spring and summer and fall all year round where I live...mostly summer...I LOVE Southern California weather. If I want white stuff I can drive an hour and a half to the mountains and there it is...and then I can drive back to the sunshine and ocean...whew hoo....xo

Hi Linda...I loved the fountain, too. Took it at some arboretum in upper New York State. That place was so lovely with beautiful flowers all over. Yeah, I'm ready for spring, too, but it's definitely not here yet. Take care, Linda! Sincerely, Susan

Hi Di....I think if I had warm weather all the time I wouldn't appreciate it as much as we do here in the east. I do wish the winter were shorter, though. Take care and have a nice day. Sincerely, Susan

Pretty fountain-spring will be welcome here too when it arrives.
Have a good weekend,
Carolyn

Hi Sandie! No, I don't know how to do a link. I don't know about that McLinky, either. So sorry for my ignorance. I WISH I had a one-to-one computer tutor to show me how to do things. Would so love to learn more. But thanks so much for thinking of me. You are a dear! Sincerely, Susan

That's a cute poem and an even cuter fountain. I love the color and the fact that it's feet get wet! Is this your yard? Show more of it when it is all in bloom...maybe, you have in the past, but I didn't get to see it.
We had blue skies today, but not warm enough to melt off the snow and more is predicted!!
hugs and love stay warm...

What a sweet garden fairy welcoming spring. Sorry that it hasn't come to your neck of the woods. Very cute lament. :) We already have to use the a/c some days around here. That means it is gonna be one hot and dusty summer. Ugh! Best wishes, Tammy

Hi Andrea...Oh, I WISH the fountain were in my yard. Ha! It was actually in an arboretum in upper New York State. Anyway, spring will be here before we know it. Hugs to you, too, and please come back soon! Sincerely, Susan

Hi, Susan. I popped over to your blog from Chatty Crone's blog. I like your Winter's Lament poem and the girl water fall. I bet it is very beautiful and relaxing to walk the path through the surrounding garden of plants. When I was young I had a green thumb. In fact, I think I did a lot of things when I was young. lol I seemed to have had a lot more energy when I was young. Hmmm, Susan, I think you could probably make a poem for me out of "When I was young". :) Well, nice to meet you, and I'll mosey around for a while. Thanks! :)
