Little Bunny Blue

Little bunny blue
Soft as can be
I want to hold you
On my knee.

Velvety ears and velvety feet
Make your whole being, very sweet.

You sat so still
On a shelf alone
The second I saw you
Wanted you to come "home."

They say the color blue
Makes a person feel sappy.
But not with you
Cuz you make me happy!

Little bunny blue
Soft as can be.
If you'll come into my heart
I'll give you the key!

Happy Easter, Little Bunny Blue!

(By the way, picked up little Bunny Blue at a thrift shop this week for $1.99, which is great because he's a pretty good sized bunny. His feet and inside of his ears are made from blue velvet. He got a good bath in the washing machine and was tossed around in the drier with a fabric softener sheet so now he smells as good as he looks. Was going to give him away but decided no, he's a keeper. ha! That happens to me a lot.)

HAVE YOU EVER WRITTEN POETRY?

I used to write poems for friends when it was their birthday or other special occasion but haven't done it in ages. Love your little poem and your sweet Bunny Blue! Have a great day. :) Tammy

As soon as I saw your Little Bunny Blue, he brought a smile to my face. My favorite book as a child was "Bunny Blue" and yes I have written poetry for as long as I have been able to write coherently. I still have little booklets of poetry and drawings that I made in grade school. I've posted some on my other blog, http://piecesofd.blogspot.com and I think I've posted one on this one since I created it.

Hi Everyone! So happy you all stopped by while I was out and about all day long! Wow! It was wonderful to read that some of you have written poetry! That is awesome. And Dianne, I had NO IDEA there was a book titled "Bunny Blue." Does the bunny look like the one pictured on today's blog? Just curious.

Take care everyone, and come back soon. I LOVE it when you all visit! Sincerely, Susan

Okay - this is the second or third time you;ve bought something and then kept it! Too cute.

Where do you put everything? You must have a huge house. lol

Glad you had fun today.

PS You put a new picture of yourself on the blog - shorter hair - I love it.

Hi Sandie...Thanks for your visit and comment. Yeah, my hair is short in this one. Regarding storage, we have a huge attic. I'd do anything to have a professional organizer come in to help me put it in order. But in the meantime, it's at least functional (until I lose something...then I don't know where to look to find it! ) You are right. I often buy things with the INTENTION of giving them away but then end up keeping them. BAD GIRL! Selfish! ha ha ha Take care and have a peaceful sleep. Sincerely, Susan
