Trees in Bloom

(Click on each photo if you want to view it close-up)

One of the best parts of spring in New England is seeing everything that was bare and dry, burst into bloom.

One day the trees had simply stark. leafless branches, silhouetted against the sky. The next day, bam!, they were covered with millions of green buds. Shortly after that, they burst into flowers so beautiful they take one's breath away.
Looking at these trees, covered with white and pink blossoms, I cannot help but feel my heart fill to the very brim with gratitude for my eyesight. It's one of the greatest gifts ever given to me. Seeing the gorgeous pink blossoms makes me want to climb high into the branches, bury my nose in their loveliness, and stay there all afternoon! That's what the birds and bees can do, surrounded by a sea of pink.

One spring day last week, pulling my car to the side of the road, I just gazed at the sight before me. There was a little park nearby and the brick walkway and profusion of fuchsia blooms looked inviting. What a great walkway someone had built. Could he/she please come to my house and build a similar one in the backyard?

It was hard to pull myself away from such loveliness but home I went, filled with intense gratitude for such wonder and beauty and the gift of eyesight with which to see it all!

WHAT IS ONE THING YOU ARE GRATEFUL FOR THIS SPRING?

Hey girl - you are growing by leaps and bounds - :)

Isn't it funny how them seem to bloom over night? Gorgeous. Ours have bloomed already and we have had white and pink (snow) every where.

Now we're green.

Love,
sandie

Our blossoms mostly blew off a couple of nights ago during a strong wind...guess they were done hanging on!

Yes! I would LOVE to have a walkway like the one you pictured. I am fascinate by pea gravel paths, stepping stone paths, brick-paved paths--just PATHS, I guess :)

Wow! What beautiful flowers and trees! I can't name only one thing I'm thankful for this spring... I'm grateful for life, love, my husband, kids and grandbabies, my dog, my art, flowers, birds, tea, the new crop of days old foals that cause me to squeal with delight when I drive by the horse farm... Life is full of things to be grateful for...

It is always nature in spring time that makes my mouth stretch ear to ear. I teach my students to be thankful. When we take neighborhood walks, we pause in our tracks when we spy a flower or butterfly, and say, "Thank you God, for my eyes, so that I can see this pretty___."
Your state's spring blossoms are breath taking. Ours have all but disappeared, but the greenery is glorious.

Thanks for the visit, Linda! That's great you teach the little ones about gratitude. The earlier, the better! Sincerely, Susan
