A Little Bit of Heaven on Earth

New England is a place of aching beauty.

What, exactly, does that mean?  Well, one is surrounded with so many exquisite images that seeing them makes the heart ache.

A walk along the edges of a lake rimmed with trees in colorful autumn attire becomes much more than just a stroll.  One cannot help but look up into the tree tops, neck outstretched, observing gold, green, red, and orange leaves contrasted against the sky.

White clouds break open and multiply themselves into hundreds of fluffy layers.

Birds like seagulls line a part of the lake's shore, surveying the intensely picturesque vistas.  Then, in a split second, they lift their wings, soar above the water, and take flight among the clouds.

A sailboat glides silently by as a gentle breeze pushes it along.

Then, people in kayaks paddle in silence, except for the splashing of the oars in the choppy surface of the lake.

Soon, winter will descend with a gray and icy vengeance and the landscape will be barren and cold.

For today, however, the sun continues to warm one's face. The trees, on fire with explosions of color, invite gazing.

The air, crisp and cool, invigorates.

Queen Autumn  rules.

WHERE IS YOUR LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN ON EARTH?

Each and every place on this beautiful planet earth has it's splendor. I live in a vacation land place where flowers bloom year round and ocean breezes cool the air. I love where I live...temperate climate...lovely lake...and everything you'd want is close by.
