Sunshine and Relaxation Make the Day

Today began with sunshine pouring through the bedroom windows.

The next 14 hours or so held great promise.  Because the temperatures outside had warmed up considerably, I turned off the heat inside the house and began the day's tasks.

A birthday cake had to be made; cleaning had to be done;  there was computer work to complete; and so on.  Somehow, with golden light pouring down outside, everything seemed possible.

By afternoon, with many items checked off on the "to do" list, but still many left to complete, I took a break to sit outside by our fountain.  It turned out to be the best decision of the day. The sun illuminated my face and its warmth filled my entire being.

Birds twittered and cars zoomed by on nearby streets.  The sound of rustling leaves could be heard as my husband bagged them in the front yard.

Taking deep breaths, filling my lungs with fresh air, I felt that all was well. The work would get done. Problems would be solved. Babies would be born and some people would die, all in the next few hours.

For these few moments, nothing mattered except to be immersed in God's golden sunlight.

HOW DO YOU RE-ENERGIZE?

There is nothing like a fountain in the garden. At my office in the middle of the building is a huge fountain of running water. So many of the clients went there to sit before their appointments. They found it so relaxing. But unfortunately they ask them to go back to the lobby because it was clogging the main walkway to the back of the building. I always thought they should have put a fountain in the lobby as well!

I LOVE days that are open to possibility. This past week off has been lovely and so happy to have this last day to recoup after our trip. I have so many dirty clothes to wash! Tomorrow, it's back to school/work and a regular routine. Hope you are having a great weekend. Best wishes, Tammy

Your post had a calming effect on me just reading about it. We have been so blessed with warm weather into November, although my husband already drained the fountain and stored it for winter. I do like to hear trickling water.

Sunshine is always appreciated, especially after 5 or more grey days!!! I was thrilled to see the sun the other day and shut off the heat and threw open the windows to change the air in the house - we call it "sailing the house." Have a great weekend!

I get energized by sunshine too. I'm so happy I live in a sunshine climate year round. This weekend we did have some much needed rain though.
