Antiques Shop in Miniature!

Weekend!  The very word lifts up our spirits and makes our hearts beat just a tad faster.

Whether one plans to stay blessedly home to putter around or go on a day trip, out to lunch with friends, or to a concert, the movies, or the library, weekends rock.

On the weekends, many people in blogland zoom to thrift shops to go treasure hunting. Antique shopping is also a blast, although prices are often higher than the thrifties.

It's filled with all kinds of fabulous decorations. There are plenty of them, too, in every nook and crannie of the shop!  The only drawback to using the things you find in your own house might be that every single thing in the shop is a miniature!  Yep, it's a miniature antiques shop, found in the  The Mini Time Machine, a Museum of Miniatures in Tucson, Arizona.

Miniature enthusiasts just might think they died and went to heaven when they walk into this incredible museum. (At least that's how I felt!) It's a place that will make your imagination shimmer like the sun.  You will feel like a giant in the land of Lilliput as you peer into windows as big as playing cards and squint to see what's inside.

The shop shown today , Corinthian Studios, has hundreds of objects, many of which are no bigger than your baby fingernail!  It's definitely an "upscale" antique shop of the miniature world.

 There are candle holders and desks, lamps, mirrors, pictures, pitchers, tables, vases, and so forth, all ready to adorn some magnificent little dollhouse!

Thanks to my handy little Kodak pixel digital camera, I came away from the museum with a slew of photographs which I hope to share with readers, little by little.  Being a total connoisseur of miniatures, taking photos of dozens of fabulous displays ranging from bakeries and honeymoon suites to toy shops and a wedding shower was pure delight.
