Some people like it creamy. Others prefer hard churned varieties. Depending on one's tastes, the cool treat can be filled with brownies, cookies, candy chunks, nuts, and on and on, or, it can be quite tasty plain and simple.
When I was a kid, my father always opted for plain old vanilla. When I'd ask him why he didn't try something different, he'd always say,
"What for when vanilla is the best?" He was a simple kind of guy.
Well, there's a place in Western Massachusetts that spells D-A-N-G-E-R for dieters. Its cones, even the smallest, are gargantuan. Here's a "small" dish of vanilla:
The sundaes defy description. After mounds of ice cream and topping, they are piled high with whipped cream that looks like miniature Eiffel Towers.
Come summertime, when the place opens, lines of waiting customers can be seen on many summer nights. Apparently, they consider it worth the wait.
It's a great place to take guests and teenagers who can afford zillions of calories. It's definitely a place to stay clear of if one is counting them.
Summertime. "Gotta" love it.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FLAVOR OF ICE CREAM?

I have two - chocolate mint dipping dots and peanut butter and chocolate from Baskin Robins. Oh I forgot chocolate raspberry truffle at Brewster's. Oh yeah . . . I like them all.
YUM!
Hi Susan,
I like ice cream any time, anywhere, summer and winter. My favourite flavours are Vanilla and Boysenberry. I like trying some of the other flavours, but, I always come back to these two. I like my ice cream to be creamy....
God Bless

Mint chip or chocolate...I like frozen yogurt too and I'm going to try gelato for the first time next week...
I'm not usually an ice cream eater but lately have been indulging in a bit of jamoca almond fudge and mint chocolate chip. Vanilla is always best with brownies or apple pie or any kind of crisp or cobbler. Yum! If you are counting calories, they say the best little treat is a soft serve from McDonald's -- only 90 calories and 2 grams of fat and just the right size for a sweet treat. Have a wonderful day. I really enjoy a soft serve vanilla cone! I also LOVE Butter Pecan! YUM!

I just read where in 1984 or something like that Ronald Reagan pronounced TODAY, July 17th as national ice cream day....isn't that convenient for your post Susan? Wow!

The sprinkles look so real I just want to reach in with a spoon and take a bite. Chris
