Mother Nature's Tantrum

A whammy of a storm hit some towns in Western Massachusetts with a vengeance Tuesday afternoon.

What started with some rain, ended up with near tornado conditions.

Wild winds ripped the trunks of trees right open.  Some big giants even topped over onto lawns, decks, and front yards.

Big trees even fell onto major streets, closing them to drivers.

Wires hung precariously from leaning utility poles.  It was scary, to say the least. While driving around, taking photos, I was petrified an electrical wire was going to drop down onto my car. Yikes!

Inside a cemetery trees went down like dominoes, some even toppling onto gravestones.

Clean up crews will definitely be out in full force for the next couple of days, getting things back to as normal as possible.

Wow!  When Mother Nature goes on a rampage, she means business and she was in a tizzy on Tuesday!

Hopefully, there will be no more storms like this one for the rest of the summer.

HAS THE AREA WHERE YOU LIVE BEEN HIT WITH SEVERE STORMS THIS SUMMER?

That would be scary to say the least. Hope you are all safe! Amazing how a huge tree can look like Mother Nature broke it like a toothpick!

We had lots of rain... anywhere from 2 -6 inches of rain in one day. There was some wind damage in some places but nothing like what you have shown us!!

Stay safe!!

hugs,
Debbie

Are you sure there wasn't a tornado in with all that wind? That's a lot of trees to be toppled just by strong winds. Glad you are safe! Stay away from those dangling wires. Best wishes, Tammy

We have been lucky in my area of Massachusetts. We are almost on the border of NH. Yesterday when I heard about the storms I was praying it wouldn't be like the last severe storms that hit Worcester County. It's amazing what happens in a matter of a few minutes in one these thunder storms. Glad you are fine.

So typical of summer days with intense heat and humidity and then intense storms. These storms pop up and do lots of damage while a few towns away receive nothing. Looks like lots of clean up in these photos!

Wow - it does look like you got hit hard - sorry about that. Yes here in GA and in our neighborhood - we had a tree fall on our garage!

Mother nature can be rough.

This has truly been the strangest summer ever even here in Canada. Lots of rain out west. We're still waiting for summer to come in. Feels like we're still in spring. The mosquitoes have been quite abundant as well because of all the rain. Our garden loves it though and has been doing quite well - very lush green.

This summer truly has been full of natural damage. I live in Southern California and we haven't been affected yet. Our times come with the fires as things get dryer and dryer
